Library Expectations & Policies

While patrons are in the library they are expected to:

Be Ready

When looking for a book:

1. Use a shelf-marker

2. Take a sneak peak - look at the title, read the summary (blurb), make sure the words are a good fit (5 finger test)

3. Ask yourself does this book interest me?

4. If the book is a good fit check it out.

In order for all of our Justin Jaguars to enjoy our books - always remember the following book care expectations:

1. Keep books away from liquids.

2. Keep books away from animals and babies.

3. Keep books away from writing tools.

4. Use a bookmark to mark your place in the book.

5. Return your book in a timely manner.

Prek/ECSE - 1 book each week, if the book is forgotten a second book can be checked out with parent permission. No more than 2 books will be checked out at a time.

Kindergarten - 1 book each week, if the book is forgotten a second book can be checked out with parent permission. No more than 2 books will be checked out at a time.

First Grade - 1 book, then 2 books starting the 2nd 9 weeks.

Second Grade - 3 books

Third Grade - 3 books

Fourth Grade - 3 books

Fifth Grade - 3 books

Students with lost or damaged books will need to pay for the item. The library will determine the cost to replace the book. Please visit the library with cash, check or credit card to pay the fine. If the book is found after paying, a refund can be made if it is within the same school year.

Fine Alternative - If you are unable to pay the fine for the lost or damaged book please contact the librarian.
